Welcome

The official Inca Babies website has been created to provide information for all of those who have contacted me over the last six years asking about the band and if there are any new releases or re-releases in the pipeline. Well, I said I’d get back to you so here goes!

A compilation CD called Plutonium comprising the Inca Babies' favourite tracks was released in October 2006 on Anagram Records. It marks a 19 year break of silence for an Inca Babies record (CD) release.

The tracks that have been chosen scan the band's lifetime and are songs that we just liked playing the most.

It was felt that due to interest from Germany and Scandinavia it would be an important gesture to release a compilation of really great tracks in a career than ran from 1983 to 1987.

In this time four albums were produced along, with seven singles or Eps. The band toured extensively around The UK and Europe covering much of mainland Europe, Scandinavia and some eastern Bloc countries.

Curiously we were due to tour America when our tour agent was killed in a freak accident outside a club in New York and we never got another invitation. America mourns.

However during all this time John Peel was a fan and invited us band to do four BBC Radio 1 Sessions, of which two tracks from the first session make it onto the compilation. "Grunt Cadillac Hotel" and "Big Jugular" were produced by Dale Griffin on a maximum rock'n'roll production scale which was vast compared to the 8 track studios  used at the time.
